C. Brigg Neibaur, DMD
It’s been over three years since Dr. Sawdy hired me fresh out of dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio to work for him. Now I get the privilege of taking over his thriving practice and being the proud new owner of Neibaur Dental, INC. I am excited about this new change and what it means for my family and patients. I have big plans and look forward to implementing them over the next few years.
I am proud to call Fairbanks, Alaska home with its eclectic cast of characters and personalities. I feel more and more Alaskan after each winter survived. I thought I knew what winter was from growing up on a potato farm in southeast Idaho, but it doesn’t hold a candle to winter in the interior. I look forward to each new adventure I get to check off my long bucket list of Alaskan things I want to see and do and can’t wait for spring.
I am passionate about my role as a dentist and want to be known for my quality care and comfortable approach. I am continuing my dental education in the interest of adding additional services that will benefit my patients and help fulfill their dental needs and aesthetic desires. I am an active member in the American Dental Association, the Alaska Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When I'm not thinking about teeth (which is hard to do when you’re a dentist), I am practicing my other careers as husband and father. My three boys, Stratton, Dashell, and Pilot always keep life interesting, and my wife, Whitney, keeps me grounded. I love the outdoors and enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, fishing, camping, hiking, snowmachining, and all around taking advantage of all that Alaska has to offer.
Gary L. Sawdy, DDS
If you think Dr. Sawdy is a little bit strange, it’s because he’s called Alaska home since 1976. That’s a long time away from “normal” civilization. Dr. Sawdy is a jokester and enjoys using humor to put his patients at ease and make them feel comfortable. Some of his jokes are even funny. Dr. Sawdy has experience in treating patients in all facets of dentistry, but has a special fondness for treating children.
While attending the University of Michigan as an undergrad, Dr. Sawdy was introduced to the world of dentistry. He went on to graduate from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry with his DDS degree. After graduation he received advanced training while serving in the United States Navy in both California and Okinawa. His time in the Navy increased his patriotism and he is proud to serve many of our active duty soldiers and their families.
When Dr. Sawdy isn’t out playing (which is getting to be less and less often), he is an active member of the Alaska Dental Society as well as the American Dental Society.Dr. Sawdy has also been an active member in the Rotary International Club for over twenty five years and has volunteered in Brazil, Bolivia, Russia, South Africa, and India.
Some of Dr. Sawdy’s many interests include hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and travel. He loves to frequent the warm beaches of south Alaska (Hawaii) as well as the cold beaches of Soldovia.Dr. Sawdy is a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines and returns back to Michigan each fall to cheer on their football team.He is a big supporter of the Univeristy of Alaska Nanooks as well as many of the other youth sporting events.Dr. Sawdy has a big heart and loves spending time with friends and family.
